Scott
Sachs has 19 years of business experience serving privately held and public
companies in both the emerging and middle markets. He has worked with
clients in a variety of industries including high
technology, manufacturing, distribution, retail, and franchise. Mr.
Sachs is a founding partner of the firm’s
award-winning Sarbanes-Oxley Consulting Practice (Practical Accountant,
September 2004).
Prior
to joining GSBB, Mr. Sachs served clients as a Partner at
Arthur Andersen LLP. His career includes significant
experience in both initial and secondary public offerings, debt and equity
financing, and acquisition and divestiture analysis. Mr. Sachs has also
developed, supervised and conducted professional development courses in
the accounting and audit fields.
In
addition to building an award-winning practice at the firm, Mr. Sachs was
also honored twice by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal: once as one of the
Valley’s Top “40 Under 40” (an award that recognizes the accomplishments
and community contributions of the San Fernando Valley’s
most influential businesspeople), and second as one of the Valley's "Top 25"
CPA's.
Mr.
Sachs is also active in the community. He currently serves on the Board
of Directors for the Boys & Girls club of the West Valley, he recently
completed a 6–year term on The Finance Committee of the
Board of Directors for the Girl Scout Council of the San
Fernando Valley and has taught elementary school children on
behalf of Junior Achievement. He also
recently completed a 5–year term on the Advisory Board of
The Entrepreneurship Institute. Mr. Sachs also accepted a request
to join the Board of Directors for the Ernst & Young LLP Alumni
Association of Southern California.
Mr.
Sachs earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a
concentration in Accounting from the University
of California at Berkeley. His
professional designations include membership in the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public
Accountants.
