David Swartz, Partner

David Swartz has thirty-five years of experience providing business advisory services to clients in several industries, including manufacturing, wholesale, retail, entertainment, real estate and professional services.

Prior to joining Good Swartz Brown & Berns, Mr. Swartz served as managing partner and was on the national Board of Directors of a 50 office, international accounting firm. For ten years he was managing partner of their Southern California offices. Mr. Swartz is also a former CFO of a publicly held shopping center development company.

In addition to broad ranging industry expertise, Mr. Swartz has expertise in many industries including retail, wholesale, manufacturing, entertainment, professional services, healthcare and real estate. He also has extensive experience in acquisitions, merger transactions, business valuations, and ESOPs.

Sharing his experiences with others, Mr. Swartz has been a guest lecturer at several Southern California universities, and is a frequent presenter to area trade and professional organizations. He has served on the advisory boards of several companies. Active in the community, Mr. Swartz is past president of the Jewish Big Brothers of Los Angeles and serves on the boards of several other charitable foundations.

Mr. Swartz earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from California State University, Northridge.

Mr. Swartz is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also served as treasurer of the Los Angeles chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is serving a four-year term as a gubernatorial appointee to the California Board of Accountancy, a division of the California Department of Consumer Affairs.  Currently, he is the President of the California Board of Accountancy.
